In the world of eCommerce where Amazon is typically thought of as the one to beat, Jeff Bezos may just be upping the company’s game even more when it comes to swift deliveries.
While other industry giants are putting their money into building driverless cars, Amazon is taking a different approach. The eCommerce superstar currently has a group of employees brainstorming ways to use driverless cars to expedite the delivery process for its speed-hungry customers.
If Amazon gets driverless cars up and running for its delivery system, the costs for the company’s operations and logistics would significantly be reduced, thereby increasing the company’s profit margins. Anyone who doubts the seriousness of this endeavor need only see that Amazon was awarded a patent earlier this year for the tech behind traffic navigation on highways.
The expansion capabilities of Amazon are likely going to continue their upward trajectory.
As we reported earlier this month, there are currently rumors circulating that Amazon may be acquiring BJ’s Wholesale Club to help with its warehouse storage and delivery speed.
