Apple Pay has secured some more support abroad in one of its newest markets.
Global Payments, a provider of payment technology services, has thrown its support behind Apple Pay in order to help propel Apple Pay’s in-store acceptance in the region.
“Following support for merchants successfully offering Apple Pay in the U.S., U.K., Canada and China, Global Payments is pleased to offer merchants the ability to accept Apple Pay in Singapore, the second market for this groundbreaking service in Asia,” said Frank T. Young, SVP of global product and innovation. “Our continued commitment to leading payments technology across the globe allows us to be at the forefront in delivering this innovative and secure payments solution to merchants in the Asia-Pacific markets that we serve.”
Singapore is one of the latest countries to enter the international Apple Pay family, and it was the second East Asian nation to bring the payments platform within its borders.
