Apple Pay will soon be coming to IBM‘s website to serve its commercial clients with the ability to use Apple Pay to pay on the iPhone, iPad or Mac with just one touch.
IBM announced this week that it will offer Apple pay to clients that use IBM’s WebSphere Commerce or IBM Commerce on Cloud. WebSphere Commerce currently powers over 12,000 store fronts for online retailers globally and provides omnichannel shopping experiences.
This option will start sometime in the fall and will enable all IBM clients to offer Apple Pay as a payment option to their online customers.
“Customer loyalty is everything, and businesses must bring relevance, ease and privacy to every step in a transaction if they want to maintain it,” said Harriet Green, general manager of Watson IoT, commerce and education at IBM. “IBM Commerce solutions can help businesses deliver flawless customer experiences. By offering Apple Pay on the web, we are making it even easier for consumers to complete purchases without having to waste time looking for credit cards or putting their most private information at risk.”
Like every company that touts its support for Apple Pay, IBM noted in its release that “security and privacy is at the core of Apple Pay.” What IBM offers is for its clients to deploy a solution pack to integrate Apple Pay into their businesses to offer online to their eCommerce sites via a widget. Once live, it eliminates the need for customers to fill out account information, including shipping or billing details.
