Malicious apps are the biggest threat for Andorid devices, but I also think that the lackadaisical attitude toward security by users is also a threat. Users need to start securing their devices. However, most users find PIN or password entry too cumbersome, so they don't bother.
The Motorola Atrix solves this with its fingerprint reader (Smart Sensor). In tests of unlock time, the fingerprint reader is just as quick as sliding the unlock icon on the screen and its twice as fast as entering a 4-digit pin.
