Macy’s is experimenting with a new store pickup program for Web orders, Internet Retailer reported on November 13.
Chief financial officer Karen Hoguet said during an analyst conference call that the program allows the company to more efficiently move inventory into the hands of consumers.
“It’s another way to get inventory to the customer in a way she likes,” Hoguet said, according to the media outlet.
Currently, the program is limited to Washington, D.C., but that it could spread to more locations nationwide next year.
