American Express and Citibank announced a new partnership on Tuesday in which Citi will issue cards accepted by the American Express global merchant network in an attempt to offer more rewards to customers, the companies announced in a release.
“As Asia’s leading card issuer, we are delighted to be partnering with American Express to bring our cardmembers new value propositions offering enhanced travel rewards,” Anil Wadhwani, Citi’s head of credit cards for the Asia-Pacific region, said in a statement.
The co-branded card, called the Citi PremierMiles American Express Card, will launch in Malaysia and offer travel miles that can be used on roughly 90 airlines.
