NXT-ID will be showing the world the newest iteration of its Wocket smart wallet device at the 2015 International CES. The Connecticut based biometric authentication company gave their first preview of the smart wallet to select media yesterday (December 5), and this consumer electronics show will be the first time the general public will be able to see and experience Wocket.
The Wocket is a smart device that can digitally store most cards in a user’s wallet and does not require smartphone or internet connection. Because the device essentially imitates a mag stripe card, the Wocket works where credit cards are accepted. Additiionally, the device can only be unlocked with a biometric authentication, in this case a voice-print.
“Most consumers are familiar with the anxiety of losing a wallet filled with their cards, coupons and personal information,” said Gino Pereira, CEO of NXT-ID. “People connect with all the negative implications of this information being in the wrong hands. We are thrilled to officially unveil the Wocket smart wallet at CES, the leading global forum for technology innovation that can truly revolutionize consumers’ lives. With Wocket, consumers finally have a convenient, attractive and secure modern solution to replace their wallet entirely, and never again need to endure the risks of carrying a traditional wallet.”
