When Wipro first launched its travel and expense management solution earlier this year, the India-based IT firm did so through partnering with a slew of companies, like Uber, to help it meet the T&E needs that Wipro experienced firsthand as a business whose employees take 250,000 trips every year.
The latest move for Wipro’s T&E tool is also one stemming from the practical needs of a corporation. Reports late last week said Wipro has now integrated its Travel & Expense Management as a Service solution into Microsoft Azure.

The firm said the rollout will initially be limited but go live across Azure by December of this year.
“This productized service on Azure is an example of how Wipro can help reimagine core enterprise processes and engineer intuitive services and solutions that provide breakthrough productivity to win in the mobile-first/cloud-first world of our customers,” the company said in its statement.
Wipro will allow businesses to create a T&E app scalable for third-person APIs, the firm said. The solution is developed toward large, multinational corporations whose travel requirements are complex, frequent and deal with a high volume of transactions and reimbursements, Wipro added.
According to Wipro CEO and Member of the Board TK Kurien, the service can cut corporates’ T&E expenses by up to 60 percent.
“Microsoft was an exceptional partner in helping us realize our idea,” he said in a statement.
Microsoft Executive Vice President of Cloud and Enterprises Scott Guthrie said the two companies have been collaborating “closely” to ensure seamless integration of Wipro into Microsoft Azure.
