Small business service providers have launched new on-demand financial resources for SMEs this year, including virtual CFO services and loads of cloud-based accounting and cash flow management tools.
Financial SaaS firm Xero has unveiled its contribution to this emerging market with the launch of its new Advisor Directory, a platform through which small business owners can access targeted, industry-specific financial guidance.
In its Tuesday (Aug. 25) announcement, Xero said the Advisory Directory provides financial services based on the exact needs of a small business, including corporate planning, loan applications, payroll, tax auditing and more.
The directory is also open to financial advisors that can customize their own page to highlight their areas of focus and expertise for potential SME clients. Accountants, bookkeepers and other small business financial advisors can join the platform, while small businesses can search for their services based on industry, location and other factors. The platform then lets the companies connect with these Xero Advisors straight away.
According to Xero Product Manager Bailey Brooks, the new tool was developed based on feedback from SME clients. “Community feedback is playing a crucial role in our ability to deliver new products and features that are guaranteed to be of service to accounting professionals and their clients,” Brooks said, adding that the Advisory Directory “will give small businesses the opportunity to find an accountant who is able to provide them with innovative and higher value advisory services.”
The new platform follows last month’s rollout of Xero’s expanded payroll support for SMEs, including features that link payroll to the cloud.
