Global technology company Pitney Bowes announced Tuesday (Oct. 18) that it will power a globally optimized eCommerce site for retailer Rue La La as part of the brand’s international online expansion strategy.
Through the Borderfree Retail solution, Rue La La will be able to deliver a localized shopping experience to its customers located across 219 countries and territories.
“We’re excited to extend Rue La La to new markets. Providing phenomenal experiences, while serving up great brands at amazing values, is what Rue does so well in the United States. It’s thrilling to be able to share our brand and capabilities to a new audience,” Mark McWeeny, CEO of Rue La La, said in a press release.
Pitney Bowes’ Borderfree Retail solution enables a retailer to grow their global eCommerce footprint via a full stack end-to-end technology and services platform. The company said the solution can help a merchant to attract new customers, deliver on localized commerce experiences and support payments and landlord costs, while also ensuring that orders are delivered to customers in an efficient manner.
“Our passion is to help consumers around the world shop fashion-forward retailers, like Rue La La,” Lila Snyder, president of global eCommerce for Pitney Bowes, noted. “We are looking forward to working together to help them reach new members around the globe.”
According to the 2016 Pitney Bowes Global Online Shopping Survey, consumers today are increasingly making transactions across borders.
As much as 66 percent of consumers who buy items online are doing so with purchases being made outside the borders of their own countries, noted the report. And the movement toward increased eCommerce adoption implies that cross-border payments will only grow.
