Online purchase security system recognized for excellence by Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce

REGINA, Saskatchewan, Canada, Nov. 9, 2010 - NetSecure Technologies, a provider of online transaction security hardware and software, announced today it has received the TIA (Technology-in-Action) New Saskatchewan Product Award for its SmartSwipe, an online purchase security system, at the 27^th Annual Achievement in Business Excellence (ABEX) Awards Dinner.

Established in 1984 by the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce, the ABEX Awards honor outstanding achievements in business excellence. The TIA New Saskatchewan Product Award, which is sponsored by the Saskatchewan Research Council, goes to a business demonstrating exceptional performance in launching a new Saskatchewan-made product, technology or service, which is original and has good commercial potential.

Officially launched earlier this year, SmartSwipe secures sensitive data at the point of origin, before it ever reaches the computer, protecting sensitive financial and personal information from endpoint threats such as keylogging, spyware and man-in-the-middle attacks. Credit card holders can swipe their credit card from their home computer just like in a store. Using the same level of encryption found in ATM's, SmartSwipe encrypts the card information while being swiped, rendering it unreadable to hackers and malicious programs.

In a recent survey conducted by NetSecure Technologies of 1,000 consumers and small businesses, nearly 70 percent of respondents who bank or shop online say they would use an online purchase security system if their financial institution or credit card company offered it.
