Leading professional services firm, EY Law Peru, has announced the arrival of Mario Zúñiga as leader of the competition & markets department, which will provide specialized legal services in the area of business concentration control (antitrust), free competition, unfair competition and advertising, and consumer protection.
Zuñiga has deep expertise on compliance and litigation in antitrust, fair competition and advertising, and consumer protection law matters. He was commissioner of the Commission for the Defense of Free Competition at INDECOPI, as well as an advisor in matters of competitiveness in the cabinet of advisors of the Ministry of Economy and Finance for two years
With this addition, adding a new area to existing ones, namely corporate and capital markets, M&A, projects, and infrastructure and regulation of financial markets and fintech.
“In a context in which new mechanisms for the protection of competition and consumers are important, and emphasis is placed on the relevance of having prevention mechanisms; it is essential to be able to advise our clients also in these matters through consulting services, accompaniment in procedures and in the implementation of compliance programs in these areas,” stated led partner of EY Law, María del Pilar Sabogal.
