Cornerstone Research announced that former US Department of Justice Director of Economics W. Robert “Bob” Majure is joining the firm as a vice president, based in the firm’s Washington office, effective June 1.
Majure retired from the DOJ in late 2018 following a career spanning nearly 25 years. He spent seven years as chief of the Competition Policy Section before being named Director of Economics in 2010, a position he held until his retirement from public service.
Regarded within the DOJ as the linchpin of the Antitrust Division’s economic analysis program, Majure directly supported the U.S. Deputy Assistant Attorney General. In this position, he closely monitored merger enforcement and litigation matters and supervised all economic work underpinning the division’s wide-ranging enforcement and policy activities. Majure also helped to establish long-term working relationships with domestic and foreign agencies.
“Bob is one of the country’s foremost authorities on the economic analyses that are the basis of competition enforcement,” said Michael E. Burton, Cornerstone Research’s president and CEO. “We are thrilled to have Bob join us and add his superb expertise to our firm’s growing antitrust and competition practice.”
