Argentina: Autoparts association denounces Renault for abuse of dominant position
Autoparts companies represented by the Association of Manufacturers of Autocomponents (Afac) will file a claim before the National Commission for the Defense of Competition (CNDC), for abuse of dominant position against Renault due to a conflict involving the adjustment of currency exchange rates in the calculation of contracts made using foreign currencies.
Pablo Camacho, manager of the Chamber of Metallurgical Industries, stated that: “It is something the Afac is considering carrying out, which involves those who are mostly suppliers and major systems suppliers (sic): brake systems, suspension systems. I can not point out that Renault is showing this behavior with all the autoparts makers, we have maintained contact with all terminals in Córdoba, to a greater and lesser extent” he said.
He clarified, in addition: “They are particular negotiations by companies, some companies have been accompanying this devaluation and these increases, and others are behind … With Renault we have been in contact and they are acting individually with each company, but it is an issue that concerns all those who are suppliers”, he warned.
