US: Dechert hires antitrust partner from Hughes Hubbard

 |  August 9, 2016

Litwin, 46, who spent six years at Hughes Hubbard, started in the New York office of Dechert on Monday. In an interview, Litwin cited Dechert’s larger international platform as the main motivation for his move.

In an interview, Litwin said he was drawn to Dechert’s international antitrust practice, which has at least 20 full-time partners in Brussels, Frankfurt, New York, Paris, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC.

New York City-based Hughes Hubbard, by comparison, had four antitrust partners while he worked there, he said.

“I was not really looking to leave Hughes Hubbard, but an opportunity came up,” he said. “(Dechert) provides a different outlook.”

At Dechert, Litwin will become a partner and relinquish his leadership role as co-chair of the group. He said he won’t “miss any of the headaches” that come with management.
