Last week, shares of Lions Gate Entertainment shares jumped more than 10% on news of a new partnership with Starz. The new deal puts the two companies into a stock swap agreement with media legend John Malone now serving on Lions Gate’s Board of Directors. The deal has put merger talks back in play.
The partnership could lead to a merger, an increase in over the top distribution, or new original content for Starz.
