EU: Romanian energy exchange may sue EC over $1.4M fine

One week after the European Commission lodged a $1.4 million fine against Romanian energy exchange OPCOM, reports say the body is exploring taking legal action against the Commission as well as the National Energy Regulatory Authority.

    OPCOM was fined for abusing its market dominance, a violation that regulators say barred EU traders from entering the Romanian electricity exchange market.

    But at a subsequent press conference, OPCOM said it is exploring legal action against the Commission.
