About 6000 jobs have been saved due to acquisitions by food group 2 Sisters, according to reports, though the deals are still subject to Competition Commission approval. 2 Sisters has reportedly bought various Vion meat plants as Vion, based in the Netherlands, looks to exit the UK. The acquisitions have also included various poultry factories. While the mergers earned praise from Scottish and Welsh government officials, on analyst notes that 2 Sisters’ parent company Boparan has recently gone on an “acquisition spree,” which may lead to an investigation by the Competition Commission.
