India: No case for Bollywood actor accusing film co. of abusing market dominance

A Bollywood actor has been denied a case against Yash Raj Films by the Competition Commission of India. The actor, Ajay Devgn, attempted to bring a case against the film company for abusing its dominance in the market by persuading theatres to dedicate more screens to the film company’s upcoming release “Jab Tak Hai Jaan,” screens Devgn argues would have been used to show his latest movie “Son of Sardaar.” The CCI found no antitrust violations and therefore denied to take on the case. Yash Raj Films has also denied any monopolization of theatres.
