In a move to bolster its antitrust, competition and trade regulation practice, K&L Gates has announced the addition of Nate Bolin and David Allman as partners. The announcement came from the firm on Wednesday.
Bolin brings extensive experience in U.S. export controls, economic sanctions, trade remedies, customs, tariffs and other areas related to national security and international trade. Meanwhile, Allman specializes in national security law, focusing on foreign ownership and control, export controls, economic sanctions and anti-corruption policies.
Both Bolin and Allman, who previously worked at DLA Piper, have a strong track record of advising clients on matters before the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS). Their expertise has been instrumental in helping clients navigate complex processes and address national security concerns related to investments and cross-border transactions.
David Wochner, managing partner of K&L Gates’ Washington, D.C., office, expressed enthusiasm about the new additions, stating, “We are incredibly excited to welcome Nate and Dave to our Washington office. Their joining builds on our deep commitment to assisting our clients in their engagements with government, and a recognition of the importance of Washington, D.C., to our global clients’ interests.”
The arrival of Bolin and Allman follows a series of strategic hires made by K&L Gates to strengthen its Washington, D.C., antitrust presence over the past year. These include former U.S. Department of Justice lawyers Varu Chilakamarri and Michael Culhane Harper, antitrust partner Vishal Mehta, insurance litigator Geoffrey Greeves, public policy of counsel Joseph Trahern, as well as government affairs advisors Ryan Carney and John Northington Jr.
