Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP has announced that antitrust and consumer protection attorney Jonathan L. Lewis has joined the firm as counsel in their Washington, D.C. office. Lewis brings nearly 25 years of extensive experience to the firm, having advised clients in sectors such as consumer products, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, chemicals and healthcare.
Lewis specializes in a wide range of antitrust, consumer fraud, commercial litigation and transactional matters. He has handled antitrust claims like price fixing, exclusive dealing and monopolization. He has also litigated breach of contract and trade secret cases, consumer fraud class actions and dealer/distributor termination disputes.
In addition to his litigation experience, Lewis offers experience in transactional matters, including merger analysis, pre-merger integration planning and advising on distribution and franchising practices. He has represented clients in federal and state investigations related to distribution practices and merger reviews.
Alexandra Cunningham, head of Hunton Andrews Kurth’s litigation team, said, “Jonathan’s experience as a high-stakes litigator and his proven ability to help clients navigate critical merger clearance matters and investigations by federal and state antitrust authorities expand the bench strength and depth of our already strong team.”
Lewis previously worked at Lowenstein Sandler LLP as a member of their antitrust group. He holds undergraduate and master’s degrees from the University of Maryland and earned his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School, graduating cum laude with honors.
