White & Case Appoints Rebecca Farrington as Co-Head of Global Antitrust Practice

 |  July 1, 2024
International law firm White & Case has appointed Rebecca Farrington as co-head of its Global Antitrust Practice. Farrington will share leadership duties with J. Mark Gidley, underscoring the firm’s commitment to strengthening its antitrust litigation and advisory services worldwide.

Farrington’s appointment comes at a time of momentum for White & Case’s antitrust team, which has recently secured notable victories, including in the Bystolic antitrust litigation and a major win for pharmaceutical giant AbbVie.

Rebecca Farrington brings a wealth of experience to her new role, with a practice that spans government merger and non-merger investigations as well as private antitrust litigation. Her impressive client roster includes industry leaders such as Saudi Aramco, Newmont Mining, Anthem, and Hertz.

Farrington has a distinguished track record of defending both proposed and consummated mergers before the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Department of Justice (DOJ). Her expertise covers a broad range of industries, from pharmaceuticals and healthcare to semiconductors, food products, aviation, petroleum, and more. This extensive industry experience positions her as a formidable advocate in complex antitrust matters.

In addition to her merger work, Farrington has successfully defended clients in non-merger investigations, including those involving alleged market allocation and violations of Section 8 of the Clayton Act. She has also been a strong advocate for government intervention in cases where clients are adversely affected by proposed mergers or anticompetitive conduct.

White & Case’s decision to appoint Farrington as co-head of its Global Antitrust Practice reflects the firm’s strategic focus on enhancing its global antitrust services and expanding into new regions.
