Alexandre Cordeiro Macedo
Alexandre Cordeiro is a Brazilian lawyer and academic who has held various positions in the Brazilian government and regulatory agencies. He is currently the President of the Administrative Council for Economic Defence (CADE), a position he has held since 2021. Prior to this, he served as the Superintendent-General of CADE from 2019 to 2021. Cordeiro holds a double degree in Law and Economics and is a Ph.D. candidate in Economic Law at the Federal University of Minas Gerais. He also holds a Master’s degree in Constitutional Law from the Brasiliense Institute of Public Law and a postgraduate degree in Administrative Disciplinary Process from the University of Brasília. Cordeiro has been involved in various high-profile cases and has spoken at international conferences on competition law and policy. He has also been recognized for his expertise in the field of antitrust law and has written several articles and publications on the subject. In addition to his work at CADE, Cordeiro has also been involved in various other organizations and initiatives, including the Brazilian Bar Association and the International Bar Association.
