The Klarna payment options available to Kohl’s shoppers include paying all at once with Pay in full, making four interest-free payments with Pay in 4 or spreading the cost of a larger purchase over monthly payments with Pay over time, according to the Kohl’s website.
Kohl’s highlighted these new payment options in an Oct. 21 press release about holiday shopping, saying: “Kohl’s recently launched Klarna’s flexible payment options at checkout, providing customers with more ways to pay this holiday.”

Klarna’s “everyday finance network” includes more than 1.2 million retailers, over120 million global active Klarna users and 3.8 million transactions per day, according to Klarna’s press release.
“Customers should be able to shop the way that works best for them, whether that’s paying in full, spreading a purchase over four interest-free payments or financing a bigger-ticket item,” Lisa Robinson, head of partner success, U.S. East Coast and Canada at Klarna, said in the release. “We’re proud to give Kohl’s customers more ways to pay that fit how they shop.”
The PYMNTS Intelligence report “Pay Later Plans Power Holiday Shopping Strategies” found in 2024 that about half of holiday shoppers were open to using pay later plans for holiday purchases to manage their spending and buy items outside their immediate budget.
The report found that 28.1% of holiday shoppers said they were very or extremely likely to use pay later plans to finance holiday purchases, and another 24.2% said they were somewhat likely to do.
In addition, the report found that 43% of holiday shoppers said the availability of pay later plans strongly influences merchant selection and that more than 25% of shoppers who decide to use financing before checkout buy more and are more willing to pay full price.
“Merchants and pay later providers can encourage higher spend and greater purchase volume by advertising the availability and terms of pay later plans before it is time to check out,” the report said.
