In a significant development for the American Antitrust Institute (AAI), Randy Stutz has been appointed as the organization’s new President. Stutz, a distinguished authority in antitrust law and competition policy, is set to lead the AAI into new directions following a national search for the right candidate.
Pamela Gilbert, Chair of the AAI Board of Directors, expressed her enthusiasm for Stutz’s appointment, stating, “I speak for the entire AAI Board of Directors in enthusiastically welcoming Randy as our new President. He is ideally positioned to build on the organization’s 25-year legacy and lead AAI in new directions in the years to come.”
Stutz’s selection comes after serving various roles within the AAI from 2009 to 2022, including director of special projects, director of legal advocacy, and vice president. His return to the organization follows his tenure as an advisor to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in the Office of Policy Planning from 2023 to 2024.
Expressing gratitude for the opportunity, Stutz stated, “I am honored and grateful to the AAI Board for the opportunity to lead this incredible organization. For twenty-five years, AAI’s trusted voice has inspired everyone who believes in vigorous public and private enforcement of the antitrust laws.”
Kathleen Bradish, who has been serving as AAI’s Acting President since August, will resume her role as Vice President and Director of Legal Advocacy. Bradish expressed excitement about Stutz taking the helm, highlighting his profound understanding of antitrust issues and a proven track record of success. She looks forward to working with Stutz to further AAI’s mission and be a positive force for change.
Pamela Gilbert acknowledged Kathleen Bradish’s contribution, stating, “We are all indebted to Kathleen for her tireless work ethic and steady hand during a time of transition at AAI.”
