Law firm Ashurst announced the appointment of Anna Morfey as partner in its competition practice, based in London.
Anna joined from Hausfeld where she has been a partner since 2015. She has significant experience in handling competition litigation matters and specialises in all contentious aspects of competition, including cartel and abuse of dominance investigations, appeals against infringement decisions, procedural challenges, and damages litigation including collective actions in the UK. Prior to Hausfeld, Anna worked at two Magic Circle firms in London and Brussels where she focused on competition investigations and competition disputes across a range of industry sectors, with particular focus on financial services and big tech. She has also spent time on secondment to the Office of Fair Trading (now the Competition and Markets Authority) and to the competition team of a major UK bank.

“Anna is a very well regarded and top-tier competition professional”, said UK Head of Competition, Duncan Liddell. He added: “Post Brexit, the Competition & Markets Authority has continued to expand its activities as a leading global antitrust regulator alongside the DoJ and EU. Anna’s appointment therefore comes at a critical and exciting time, and her strong background in competition investigations, which plays to our existing areas of strength, as well as her expertise in handling big-ticket competition damages claims, means we are well placed to accelerate growth in this area. She will be a great asset to the firm and we look forward to welcoming her to Ashurst.”
