Australia’s competition watchdog has announced its approval for Tabcorp Wagering Manager Pty Lid (Tabcorp), a wagering and gaming entertainment company, to give effect to two agreements it has entered into with Racing and Wagering WA (RWWA) and Tabcorp and ACTTAB Limited (ACTTAB). Tabcorp, ACTTAB and RWWA are each the only licensed pari-mutuel wagering operators in their perspective regions, according the ACCC. The 2012 Agreements, that have been authorized by the ACCC, decide RWWA and ACTTAB’s participation in the SuperTAB pool – which gives participants access to consolidated offs – that is operated by Tabcorp. In a statement, the ACCC says the 2012 Agreements will stabilize the totalisator pools.
