Australia: ACCC says dairy farmers getting a raw deal

Australia’s competition watchdog has rejected farmer concerns that dollar-a-litre milk is responsible for slashing their profits.

But the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has found that farmers are getting a raw deal from the major milk companies.

It’s backing calls for a mandatory code of conduct and for a greater share of the profits made by the milk companies to go to farmers.
