Davis Wright Tremaine LLP has welcomed antitrust litigator Gerald A. Stein to its ranks as a partner in the firm’s New York City office. Stein, previously associated with Norton Rose Fulbright LLP, brings a wealth of experience gained during his tenure at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and years in private practice.
With a career spanning several decades, Stein’s expertise encompasses advising and litigating on antitrust and commercial matters for clients in healthcare, media, technology, retail, and consumer products. His extensive background includes eight and a half years at the FTC, where he scrutinized M&A deals and anti-competitive conduct across various industries.
Stein’s legal journey commenced with seven years as a litigation associate at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, followed by a stint at O’Melveny & Myers LLP, where he focused on antitrust litigation, particularly in defense of cartels and exclusive dealing. His tenure at Norton Rose Fulbright LLP, where he rose to partner, was marked by recognition for excellence from Global Competition Review and The Legal 500.
In expressing his enthusiasm for joining Davis Wright Tremaine, Stein stated, “Davis Wright Tremaine has established a reputation for top-of-market leadership in many of the industry sectors where my practice has grown the most, including healthcare, media, and technology. The firm’s clients are some of the most innovative players in their respective industries, and they rely on Davis Wright to help them stay one step ahead. I couldn’t be more pleased to be launching the next chapter of my career at a firm so focused on what’s next.”
