Legal counsels for the airline Volaris and El Salvador’s Civilian Aviation Authority (AAC) held a public conference last week, in one of the final steps before the company takes flight in the country’s air passenger market. The low-cost airline will begin operating flights to and from El Salvador starting February 20th, said Volaris Costa Rica’s General Manager, Fernando Naranjo.
Mexican Airline Volaris’ expansion into the Central American region’s low-cost airline market began in December 2016, with the launch of their Costa Rica to Guatemala route.
A communication released by the airline to mark the new route states that “Volaris Costa Rica is a robust medium-to-long term project, which began with our San José-Guatemala route, and in the following months will continue to add more routes, bringing greater connectivity to the region at affordable prices”.
