The current topic of discussion concerns Apple’s 30% revenue share rule for in-app subscriptions of digital content. This policy has caused frustration for some app developers, including Spotify and Twitter.

Officials from Spotify and Elon Musk have joined forces to challenge Apple’s App Store policies. The CEO of Spotify, Daniel Ek, and Musk have criticized Apple’s guidelines as “absurd” and presenting a “serious scaling problem” in a recent Twitter conversation. Both parties have previously spoken out against the rules imposed by Apple on developers.
After Twitter launched support for user subscriptions, Musk clarified the delay in subscription availability on iPhones compared to the web.
