Jonathan Kanter, the co-chair of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison’s antitrust practice group, has left to start his own law firm.
He announced the decision and the name of his new firm, The Kanter Law Group, in an email on Friday.
Before he was a Partner in the Washington, DC office of Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP. He is a leading antitrust lawyer representing major corporations in connection with high-profile mergers, joint ventures, and civil non-merger investigations before the US Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, and state antitrust authorities.
Kanter is widely recognized as being among the nation’s top antitrust lawyers. Chambers USA has distinguished him among the nation’s foremost antitrust attorneys. Law360 honored Jonathan as one of the top five antitrust lawyers under the age of 40.
