UK/Germany: Utility targets UK energy company for takeover

Germany-based utility E.ON announced Friday plans to acquire UK-based energy company Matrix in efforts to strengthen its commercial services operations.

    In a statement, E.ON described Matrix as the “market leader in energy management and efficiency services for commercial buildings” within the UK. Matrix will be integrated into E.ON’s Connecting Energies unit, with centers on energy efficiency in the business-to-business sector.

    The parties declined to disclose financial details of the deal.
