Zipcar and Avis Budget Group have announced the expiration of the waiting period concerning their merger, effectively clearing the transaction in the US. Zipcar, the world’s largest car-sharing company, will be bought out by Avis, though the deal remains suspect to review from UK antitrust authorities. The two initially expected the deal to become finalized around March of this year.
