Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, the premier provider of legal services to technology, life sciences, and growth enterprises worldwide, announced today that Jamillia P. Ferris has joined the firm’s antitrust practice as a partner in the Washington, D.C., office. Prior to joining the firm, Ferris served in the Office of General Counsel at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) where she led the FCC’s review of AT&T’s acquisition of DIRECTV. Previously, she was a partner at Hunton & Williams and a former chief of staff in the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice.
“The vast array of responsibilities that Jamillia has accrued throughout her career in both the public and private sectors is an obvious sign of her reputation for quality work and solid leadership,” said Doug Clark, co-managing partner of the firm. “Jamillia has proven herself to be a thorough and effective first-chair investigator. Her fluency in merger enforcement issues, conduct investigations, and FCC review processes and standards will be a tremendous benefit to our clients as they navigate agency reviews for complex mergers and acquisitions.”
Ferris was appointed to the FCC’s Office of General Counsel in 2014. In addition to leading the review of AT&T’s acquisition of DIRECTV, she served on the steering committee overseeing the FCC’s review of Comcast’s proposed acquisition of Time Warner Cable. Prior to joining the FCC, while in private practice, she focused on antitrust and consumer protection investigations.
