Cabify’s CEO in Colombia, Camilo Sarasti, described the proposal presented by the Bogota Ministry of Mobility, in charge of traffic and transport for the capital city, as “deceiving” users. The plan calls on replacing thousands of taxis for “luxury vehicles” that can compete with applications such as Cabify or Uber.
Bogota Mobility Secretary Juan Pablo Bocarejo announced that by the end of 2017, the first luxury taxis will be rolled out in Bogota, gradually replacing the traditional yellow taxis.
“These luxury taxis look like blindfolds to deceive the user and a treat to satisfy an old-fashioned monopoly that is accustomed to setting the rules for the transport sector, and has done with the Ministry of Transport whatever it has wanted,” warned Mr. Sarasti.
