Poland: ThyssenKrupp unit raided for bid-rigging

 |  May 21, 2014

Germany steel giant ThyssenKrupp confirmed Wednesday that its Poland-based operations are now the subject of an investigation regarding claims of bid-rigging and have been raided by antitrust officials.

Reports say the rail technology offices in Poland were searched last month, ThyssenKrupp said, along with several other companies in the nation. The firms are reportedly suspected of colluding to rig the bidding for a contract, through reports did not specify the type of project subject to the collusion.

The German company declined to offer more details on the raid.

Last year, German officials fined ThyssenKrupp and others for price-fixing; the company remains under investigation over allegations of steel price manipulation as well.
