Telefonica has expressed willingness to explore potential partnerships with Vodafone regarding fiber networks in Spain, as stated by a senior official on Thursday.
According to a company spokesperson, Chief Operating Officer Angel Vila stated on Thursday that the Spanish firm is “open and prepared”. This confirms a report by Bloomberg.
Margherita Della Valle, the new CEO of Vodafone, is facing pressure to make changes to the company, which operates across Europe and Africa and has experienced underperforming shares.
The company is looking for ways of divesting its assets in Spain. However, due its significant presence in the country, any sale made to competitors would encounter challenges related to antitrust regulations.
