During his 25 years at Swift, Campos led a full strategic and financial transformation of its network and helped its network volumes almost double, according to the post.

Campos has also been a member of the Bank of England’s RTGS/CHAPS board and Starling Bank’s board, and he chairs Payoneer Europe, per the post.

“Stablecoins are becoming one of the rails global finance runs on, and the businesses building on them expect the same resilience and trust they get from the traditional system,” Sutter said in the post. “Lazaro has spent his career setting that standard.”

Campos joined OpenTrade as the company moves from early growth to scale, according to the post.

OpenTrade has processed more than $1 billion in transaction volume over the past 12 months and now has $300 million in total value locked, per the post.

“Having Lazaro as chair for this next phase says a lot about what this team has built,” Sutter said in the post.

OpenTrade announced in May that it raised $17 million in new funding, bringing its total funding to more than $30 million and giving the company “the runway to scale at the pace the market is demanding,” PYMNTS reported.

When announcing that funding, OpenTrade said it is working to address demand for permissioned yield infrastructure for FinTechs and neobanks developing custodial stablecoin products, as well as “permissionless infrastructure for non-custodial platforms and asset issuers” in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space, according to the report.

OpenTrade also offers its Curation+ service, which curates “custom vaults with institutional-grade yield sources, in partnership with Five Sigma Finance, an FCA-regulated asset manager, delivering solutions that aren’t available anywhere else in the market,” the report said.

That round came three years after a May 2023 funding round in which OpenTrade raised $1.5 million for its platform for investing in tokenized financial assets. OpenTrade said at the time that it was set to launch its platform later that year and would scale its operations.
