Don’t forget to take your meds. Also, don’t pay more than you should.
These are messages we think are important here at the PYMNTS Provider Ranking of Prescription Apps, because we care about our readers. Touching. We know.
What’s great about this particular ranking is how little it’s been changing during a changeable time in healthcare. People are searching high and low for more affordable healthcare options during this pandemic, and that goes double for costly prescription drugs.
Come along as we show you the apps that make that medicine less bitter, cost-wise.
The Top Five
Like we said … how little it’s been changing. This ranking, that is. People who love that kind of constancy in the app world (and it is reassuring) are going to love this.
At No. 1, it’s GoodRx, which saw subscribers jump this past summer.
SingleCare – Rx Coupons keeps its No. 2 position without a single care in the world.
No. 3 is still occupied by the RxSaver app, acquired in Q2 by GoodRx. A powerhouse.
CVS Caremark holds firm at No. 4, up where the big dogs like to congregate.
A surprise now (betcha didn’t see that coming) is the Express Scripts app as it continues its climb up the charts, entering the top five at No. 5. Welcome.
Yes, that’s a real Rembrandt on the wall of our Top Five VIP Lounge. Champagne, anyone?
The Top 10
One app’s gain often comes at the expense of another (at least in these rankings), and so it is for Publix Pharmacy dropping a spot to No. 6.
No change for the OptumRx app, chilling optimally at No. 7 for another cycle.
Staying in the neighborhood at No. 8 for another go-around it’s the RxLocal app, which can manage the entire family’s prescriptions, “communicate with the pharmacy via secure messages, order refills, set medication reminders and find pharmacy location information.”
There’s another repeater at No. 9 as the KrogerRxSC shows the backbone of the grocery sector. Nice.
Topping us off at No. 10 it was and still is RefillRx, showing real resilience.
And there it is. Another PYMNTS Provider Ranking of Prescription Apps, done and done.
Don’t know about you, but we feel great.
