Amid Holiday Season, Capital One, JPMorgan Maintain Top Credit Card Apps

In the holiday shopping season, some things remain the same, at least when it comes to the top credit card apps.

Consumers may be grappling with the pressures of inflation, of living paycheck to paycheck (which accounts for 57% of the population), but when they are opting to pull out the (digital) card, the marquee names still hold sway.

As had been seen in our earlier reading, the top spots in the PYMNTS Provider Ranking of Credit Card Apps remain populated by Capital One Mobile, JPMorgan Chase and Bank of America, respectively.

Drill down a bit, and the most notable changes — in terms of positive momentum — have been confined to companies lower down on the list. Petal Credit Card gained seven spots, to a recent 43, up from 36. PREMIER Credit Card also gained seven spots, to 49. And Privacy.com’s own offering also managed to climb seven places to a more recent showing at number 19 on the list.  Ollo Credit Card slipped 15 points to a 46 ranking.

The Top 5

Still in the No. 1 spot is Capital One Mobile.

The runner-up spot, too, continues a trend, with Chase Mobile remaining at No. 2.

Bank of America Mobile Banking maintains its third place finish, having moved to that spot in the latest ranking.

Wells Fargo Mobile hung onto its fourth-spot ranking.

Discover Mobile rounds out the top five.

The Top 10

Credit One Bank Mobile stayed steady at sixth place.

American Express is at No. 7, while the PREMIER Credit Card app displaced MySynchrony for the eighth-place showing.

The MySynchrony app moved down one level to take No. 9, tied with the Cards Mobile Wallet.

In the last spot among the top 10, we have a tie. The Barclays US mobile app is joined at No. 10 by Tally, the credit card consolidation app.
