With winter ramping down immune systems and ramping up infections, prescription apps can be key.
Using a proprietary combination of publicly available information plus app usage data to which we have access, the PYMNTS Provider Ranking of Prescription Apps ranks these apps based on factors including channel coverage, downloads, monthly average users, sessions per user and average session length.
This month, the top three held steady, but there’s been some shakeup in the lower ranks of the top 5.
The Top 5
GoodRx remains No. 1, scoring 97, with SingleCare RX once again at No. 2, trailing behind with 81 points.
CVS Caremark again takes the bronze at No. 3, with its significantly lower score of 67.
Matters get a little more interesting at No. 4, a spot formerly held by RxSaver, with the Publix Pharmacy app pulling ahead with 63 points.
OptumRx, meanwhile, has been bumped up from sixth place to No. 5 with its score of 59.
The Top 10
This time, Express Scripts, formerly tied for the position, was the sole No. 6 pick, scoring significantly lower than its former co-sixth-place-holder with 55 points.
RxSaver fell three spots down the ranking to No. 7, where it is tied with last time’s eighth place pick, Inside Rx, which rose a spot. Each scored 49 points.
RxLocal, meanwhile, lost its recently gained seventh place spot, falling back down to No. 8 with a score of 46.
Clever Rx, which eked its way into the top 10 last time, continues to gain ground, this time rising a spot in the ranking to No. 9 with a score of 33.
Blink, for its part, which was also a newcomer to the top 10 list last time, fell a spot, closing out the ranking with its score of 22.
Check back next time to see if RxSaver can regain its lost ground or if will only fall further down in the ranking.
