EBay Upgrades Mobile App to Enhance Shopping and Selling Experience

The company made the update to enhance customer engagement and add features that would allow user to pick-up orders at local retail stores.

eBay upgraded its mobile app to not only be visually appealing, but also to enhance browsing, shopping and selling experience, according to Mobile Commerce Daily.

“At our core, eBay is about connecting buyers and sellers,” said Kevin Hurst, eBay vice president of mobile products told Mobile Commerce Daily. “Consumers want a streamlined mobile experience that’s also beautiful and inspirational.

The app was updates to increase customer engagement and add features that would make the users experience more intuitive.  For the iPhone, a personalized feed displays larger images of the products to catch a consumer’s attention.

The app will also speed up browsing time, and Android users have quicker access to auction notifications.

Retail stores like Best Buy, AutoZone and Toys “R” Us are included within a new in-store program.  The program allows the user to pick up online sales. This will also feature store information, such as directions, hours and order numbers.

“EBay is focused on delivering seamless shopping experiences across multiple devices and platforms. Today’s shopper hops from desktop to tablet to smartphone to brick and mortar and the most successful retailers address their needs across all channels,” Hurst said.
