Citi has launched a “Shop With Points” partnership with CVS, allowing cardholders to redeem points at the pharmacy chain’s more than 8,200 locations around the U.S.
Through the program, announced in a news release Friday (Feb. 4), eligible cardmembers can redeem points for $10 worth of qualifying purchases at participating CVS stores.
Cardholders only need to shop at a CVS and begin checkout, paying with an eligible Citi credit card for a purchase worth more than $10.01.
“If the payment terminal screen prompts an offer to redeem ThankYou Points, select ‘yes’ to use points to pay for $10 of that purchase,” Citi said. “Once selected, $10 will be instantly deducted from the payment amount.”
The program was launched in partnership with FIS, Citi said. It follows the company’s recent announcement that Citi Double Cash cardmembers will be able get 1% cash back when they buy and 1% when they pay for their purchases in the form of ThankYou Points.
When those changes become effective March 28 of this year, all Citi Double Cash cardmembers will be able to Shop with Points at CVS automatically.
“Over the past two years, Citi has significantly expanded the redemption options for ThankYou Points to provide even more flexibility for cardmembers,” the company said.
These new options include rewards from the Wyndham hotel chain. Eligible Citi cardmembers can also Shop with Points at Amazon, PayPal, 1-800-Flowers, Best Buy, bp, Amoco and Shell.
