PayPal has officially revealed its first U.K. partners to adopt its PayPal Here SDK to enable businesses to offer in-store and on-the-go payments via smartphones and tablets at the POS.
The PayPal Here SDK was launched in 2013 with the intention of enabling its partners and developers to integrate chip-and-PIN and contactless card payments into their iOS and Android apps. It enables businesses to have tailored POS solutions that bring features of the PayPal Here reader along with it, including inventory management, CRM, invoicing, scheduling, reporting and the ability to provide a more personal customer experience.
“At PayPal, we’re always working to build better experiences that take the pain out of payments. For developers, integrating payments into their app can be complex and one of the last things they want to worry about. The PayPal Here SDK means we simply handle the payments work for you. By collaborating with the industry leaders in point-of-sale software, we are able to offer businesses of all sizes and in any sector a complete solution to ensure they never miss a sale,” said Cameron McLean, managing director at PayPal U.K.
PayPal’s most recent announcement includes a list of eight partners: AirPOS (creator of software for SMBs), Autocab (supplier of cloud-based taxi booking and dispatch systems), BookingBug (booking solutions provider), Vexilor (cloud-based POS), HikePOS (multichannel software provider), Ovatu (POS management solution), Powered Now (mobile services solution provider) and Vend Register for iPad (pairs with reader to bring retailers POS solutions).
