French jewelry brand Reza has deployed Perfect Corp.’s artificial intelligence (AI) and augmented reality (AR) solution so that visitors to its new eCommerce website can virtually “try on” its rings, earrings and bracelets.
With Perfect Corp.’s AgileHand technology, visitors to Reza’s site can see real-time digital renderings of the company’s accessories on their hands and wrists, even as they move them, Perfect Corp. said Friday (Nov. 11) in a press release.
“We are thrilled to partner with Reza Jewelry to bring their luxury designs to life via Perfect Corp.’s hyper-realistic AI and AR-powered virtual try-on solutions,” Perfect Corp. Founder and CEO Alice Chang said in the release. “It is exciting to see our impactful omnichannel services enhancing the luxury accessories shopping journeys, delivering an immersive and impactful virtual try-on experience for Reza customers.”
The beauty and fashion tech solutions provider’s AgileHand technology uses 3D technology to map an individual’s hand and wrist and track their movements in real time, according to the press release.
It also employs physically based rendering (PBR) to give true-to-life finishes to 3D objects — in this case, showing how different materials scatter the light.
“The application of the latest AI and AR technology allows Reza jewelry to be appreciated in a more intimate way — on par with small showings and private, by-appointment viewings in-store,” the release said.
Digital try-on features enable customers to have a more pleasant shopping experience online, on an app or in a store, Chang told PYMNTS in a June 2021 interview.
Speaking of the use of this technology in another market — cosmetics — Chang said it allows shoppers to try on as many products as they want until they find the ones that work best for them.
“We need to connect the beauty lovers and the beauty buyers with the brands,” Chang said. “Previously, that was always done through the store. Now it is digital, and we can give the users more power to try before they buy, give feedback and interact directly with the brand on the products.”
