On the same day Amazon announced its Prime Big Deal Days event in October, Walmart announced Monday (Sept. 18) its own shopping event, Walmart Deals – Holiday Kickoff.
The shopping event will run from 7 p.m. ET Oct. 9 through Oct. 12. With the rise of eCommerce and the increasing popularity of online shopping, Walmart is determined to compete with Amazon by providing its own exclusive offers and promotions.
For its part, Amazon is planning a 48-hour shopping event, Prime Big Deal Days, to take place from Oct. 10 to Oct. 11. The new event will be similar to Prime Day in the summer, with exclusive deals and discounts.

According to information emailed to PYMNTS, some of the deals include the Apple Watch SE, Sony 75-inch Class BRAVIA XR X90K 4K HDR Full Array LED TV, HP 15-inch Pentium Laptop, Mega Barbie The Movie Dreamhouse and more. These deals offer significant savings, with discounts ranging from $20 to $500.
Walmart offers various options such as in-store shopping, curbside pickup and online ordering with home delivery.
Walmart has revamped its online platform, walmart.com, to provide personalized content and a curated shopping experience.
