Expense management and business travel booking platform TravelBank has become an ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certified provider, with its Information Security Management System (ISMS) receiving third-party accreditation from the International Standards Organization, according to a Wednesday (Feb. 24) press release.
The ISO/IEC 27001:2013 standards have to do with the best practices for information security systems. By being recognized with this certification, the release said TravelBank’s procedures are comprehensive and follow leading practices.
Reid Williams, co-founder and chief technology officer (CTO) with TravelBank, said one of the company’s main concerns was safeguarding users’ data and privacy.
“It is very important to us that our customers feel safe and that they can completely trust TravelBank in how we store and handle employee data,” Williams said, according to the release. “As a platform that manages sensitive and personal information, it’s our highest priority and responsibility to ensure everything submitted into our system is tremendously secure, and we only use our customer’s data to help them fulfill their mission. Putting in the work to achieve this certification was an obvious route for our team, especially as the world transitions to doing more things online. We are committed to continue providing the finest and most secure platform to our partners and customers.”
With cybersecurity being so important right now with the digital ways everyone is living and spending money, the release said the certification is important because it sets TravelBank apart in terms of security.
TravelBank has also worked to integrate its travel and expense management platform with U.S. Bank’s Instant Card, with the goal of boosting an expense management platform for corporates. With the partnership, program administrators are able to issue the cards from their expense management accounts and allow them to instantaneously add the cards to a mobile wallet with things like a preapproved budget and expense limits.
