WEX has made a deal with Ford Smart Mobility LLC through which the latter firm will be able to refer its business fleet clients to WEX. Ford Smart Mobility LLC is a part of the Ford Motor Co., which is among the biggest business vehicle makers globally, according to a Monday (March 8) announcement.
“Together with WEX, Ford’s experience and strength with commercial fleets brings together a technology powerhouse arrangement for Ford’s commercial customers,” Brian Fournier, senior vice president and general manager of global partners, WEX, said in the announcement.
WEX will provide the business fleet clients of Ford with different WEX fuel cards like the “WEX Universal” card in addition to a number of merchant-sponsored and WEX-fueled card offerings. These clients will have the capacity to simply browse and compare to locate the most ideal card program for their requirements and apply digitally via one WEX-fueled experienced.
“We know running a commercial fleet goes well beyond the vehicles on the ground and offering WEX’s programs to our commercial customers is another way we’re helping our customers increase their productivity so their businesses can thrive,” Ford Commercial Solutions General Manager Brent West said in the announcement.
WEX runs in over 10 nations and in over 20 currencies via over 5,200 associates globally, according to the announcement.
The news comes as WEX wholly-owned subsidiary WEX Bank signed a multi-year deal with NASPO ValuePoint, the purchasing unit of the National Association of State Procurement Officials (NASPO), for its fleet card offering.
“WEX has extensive experience serving the federal, state and local public fleet marketplace and we are looking forward to bringing that expertise to NASPO members,” Bernie Kavanagh, senior vice president and general manager of large fleet at WEX, said in a previous announcement.
The NASPO arrangement provides participating state and local governments across the nation with the full array of WEX Universal Fleet Card tools and functionalities like broad merchant acceptance and intricate fraud prevention offerings.
