Apple is slated to roll out an updated iPad Pro and AirPods this year at its first product launch, CNN reported on Tuesday (April 13).
Apple sent out press releases for this event with the tagline “Spring Loaded.” The event will take place Tuesday, April 20, in Cupertino, California, at the Apple Park headquarters, CNN reported.
Apple will likely introduce the next update to its iPad lineup, including a new iPad Pro with a super bright LED display and a redesigned iPad mini with smaller bezels and a larger display.
In addition, the company is said to be working on next-gen AirPods, which will have a design more like the higher-end AirPods Pro, with spatial audio support and touch controls also included.
CNN also reported that Apple’s MacBook Pro and MacBook Air are also due for updates, although it’s not a sure thing that will happen.
Apple discontinued its iMac Pro line, which was once the most powerful computer offered by the company. The tech giant also canceled the original HomePod so that it could focus more on the HomePod mini.
In addition, CNN reported that Apple has been rumored to be working on smart glasses, alongside an augmented reality/virtual reality headset. But those products are still shrouded in secrecy, and CNN reported that it’s not likely much information will be available this month.
Apple has been working on products for the connected home market, PYMNTS reported, with the company reportedly working on a product that will do a “wide array” of tasks. The product could be used to include an Apple TV set-top box and a HomePod speaker, and it would also include a camera for video conferencing through a connected TV.
The product could also come with other smartphone functions and would let users play games, watch videos and use smart speaker functions, like playing music or utilizing the Apple Siri digital assets.
